Kildangan got our SFL campaign back on track with a seven point win in Rathangan tonight. The winning margin did not flatter the visitors, indeed Kildangan could have been out of sight by half time. Kildangan, playing into a stiff breeze, Kildangan opened the scoring with a superb Robbie Murray point, after some superb link play. Further points by Alan Courtney (2), Pauric Casey and Shane Stafford left the score five points to three at the half way point.
The second half was a tour de force by the Kildangan attack, points by Alan Courtney(4), Shane Stafford(2) and Pauric Casey(2) putting Kildangan in the driving seat. At the other end tight defending by the Kildangan backs snuffed out any hint of a Rathangan revival, confining them to a brace of points in the entire second half. Kildangan ran out comfortable winners, perhaps a sign of better performances ahead.
