Rathangan took the points at home earlier this year, with a super purple patch late in the second half, amid torrential rain.

The "Nurangan" girls were relishing an opportunity to erase the defeat and while nervous before the start they couldn't wait to get going.

There was no score in the first 10 minutes thanks to really good defending by both teams.

Eventually Rathangan opened the scoring with a slick point worked from their own half. Not long after the subsequent kick-out, a "Nurangan"long ball towards goal was palmed by the corner forward into the net, wrong footing the Rathangan Keeper.

The home team added two points before half time. One of these from the full forward facing away from goal and kicking backwards over her head, brilliant improvisation forced from very strong defending.

Rathangan then doubled their tally to 0-2. Both defenses were getting the better of their markers giving the tight scoreline at the break Kildangan Nurney 1-2 V 0-2 Rathangan. .

The start of the second half mirrored the first with defenses containing attackers and it was to be a nail-biting 30 minutes for a sizable enough crowd. At any point a little rally form either team would have made all the difference. Kildangan Nurney probably did this to a degree and edged further in front with a scrambled goal and a point before Rathangan pointed twice. Another point, then a third goal from close in and another from a strong run from midfield and that was that as the light faded.

Overall, this was a super league where we only lost one game, against Rathangan.
