A match report can’t do this Minor championship game justice no matter who writes it, but here goes.
Na Fianna got off to a blistering start and were 4 goals up in 5 minutes. Kildangan Nurney didn’t really do much wrong, it was just fantastic link up play from Na Fianna from the off.

Kildangan Nurney did kick into gear, and it had to happen quickly or they were going to be beaten out the gate. They composed themselves and maintained possession consistently from good kick outs to get the ball out of the danger area and into the scoring third over and over. When in range they took point after point and the odd goal. Getting back into the game was helped by winning more than their fair share of the opposition kick outs. Good defending, and Na Fianna not hitting the target as often as they were able to earlier in the half helped Kildangan Nurney reduce the deficit to a single point at half time.

Even the crowd needed the break.

Before the re-start everyone in the ground was quieter than you’d expect, feeling tense, knowing that this was going to be close right to the end.

It resumed where it left off, relentless attacking play from both sides, goals were replied to with goals, but Kildangan Nurney just taking the odd extra chance over the home team by pointing at crucial moments to
win  7-14 to Na Fianna's 9-4. A couple of great saves from the Nurangan keeper probably made the difference on the night because the attacking play was brilliantly even.

You’d have had to be there to get a sense of the speed of the game and with a score every two minutes it would have been worth an entrance fee.

Two out of two for Nurangan Ladies and both were really great performances.
