Kildangan Juvenile Update

posted 17 Sep 2015, 13:12 by rúnaí Cill Daingin
With underage competition slowly winding down updates from recent juvenile activities;
On Wed 16th September Kildangan U13s lost a very competitive game to Killard (Kill and Ardclough) on a scoreline of 8:06 to 5:08. It was a highly entertaining encounter, Killard only pulling away in the last few minutes as the younger Kildangan players visibly tired.
The previous week our Under 13s had a comprehensive win against Ellistown. With a number of teams failing to field in the competition games remain against Monasterevin (H), Maynooth (H) and Cappagh away. This league has semi-finals for the top four teams in the league, the winners going on to contest the Under 13 County Final in late September

Not to be outdone by their older counterparts, our Under 11s continue to blaze a trail in their league with fine wins against Castledermot and most recently Two Mile House. The game against Two Mile House was a cracking contest with Kildangan eventually winning on a scoreline of 1:10 to 2:05.

Under 9 competition is also coming to a close, as this league is non-competitive no scores are recorded, however the skill levels of the team continues to improve steadily.

For Under 6s to Under 8s blitzes are the main activity. Numbers in these age categories continue to be strong, helped by the emphasis on fun.

Finally, Abbey Rangers (Kildangan and Ballykelly) will field in the Under 15 competition, due to start 4th October.
