Field Day 2013 - Report and Pictures

posted 23 Jun 2013, 17:35 by Unknown user
Our annual field day on Sunday 23rd June was a tremendous success. The community of Kildangan was out in force to enjoy a wonderful days entertainment, the highlight of which was a fabulous display of juvenile football. The skills on display by the players were sublime, despite the fact that the games were non-competitive, every player gave 100 percent. As usual, players were presented with medals at the end to reward their efforts.

In addition to the juvenile football, there were numerous other attractions including tug of war, face painting, rodeo bull and giant slide, and pony rides.  However if the kids had to pick a favourite attraction the vote would undoubtedly go to the beautiful sheepdog pups brought along by Vincent Prendergast. Declan Prendergast chickens would come in a close second!

Days like this don't just happen a lot of hard work and effort was put in by a lot of people. In particular, thanks must go to Martin Higgins who once again came up trumps with the table and chairs. Thanks also to the people who donated cakes and bottles and to the hardworking people manning the many stalls and the BBQ. Field Day 2013
Thanks also to Liam O'Donovan and John Casey who demonstrated great patience and a great deal of stamina with the ponies. Finally, thanks to Johnny Casey for supervising the tug of war.
