Cuchulainn Gaels Update

The U13 Cuchulainn Gaels amalgamated teams of Kildangan & Athgarvan produced a first-rate display of football against Castledermot Friday evening in Ballykelly to claim the Division 2 title on a scoreline of 3-10 to 3-06.

After a great start by the Gaels the half time score of 3-04 to 2 points was a fair reflection of their dominance. After the break, Castledermot came right back into it and started to eat into the lead. It was backs to the wall stuff in the final quarter as Castledermot went looking for the win.  Four points in arrears, Castledermot were awarded a penalty in the last five minutes, which was saved by the Cuchulainn Gaels keeper.  A stand out feature of the game was the very sporting manner in which the players and supporters of both teams conducted themselves. The game itself exemplified everything that is great about Gaelic football; every single player gave 100% effort to try to secure victory.
