Kildangan were moving well, finding each other in space and their scores continued to flow. Rory McGrath bagged two more goals following swift, and for the most part accurate passing movements from midfielders Daniel Gilbert and Josh Burns. On the break the scoreline read 6:08 to 3:02 in favour of Kildangan, a fair reflection on the play. Indeed, but for the superb play of the Moorefield full back Aaron Slattery, Kildangan could have been further in front. Slattery, a strong skilful player snuffed our a number of Kildangan attacks, showing great spirit in driving his team on.
On the resumption Moorefield drew first blood, a goal from Luke Ennis, Kildangan cancelling it in the next move with a expertly taken Cian Murtagh effort. It was end to end stuff as Moorefield fought back, a number of their attacks being snuffed out by Kildangan centre back John Kelly who read the game excellently and linked well with his midfield partners. One such interception resulted in the next score, another Kildangan goal from full forward Rory McGrath. Moorefield could have been closer at the end, some of their point efforts just wide of the mark. Kildangan were more economical in front of goal, and most of their attacks ended in scores.
Best for Kildangan midfielders Daniel Gilbert and Josh Burns, centre back John Kelly and half forwards Michael O'Toole and Cormac Finnegan. A special mention for Kildangan full forward Rory McGrath who scored five goals.
For Moorefield, Cathal Hyland, Dylan Murtagh and Luke Ennis shone. Their full back Aaron Slattery also kept the Kildangan attack at bay on a number of occasions.
